Brown published in Behavioral Sciences & Law, presents to CA Dept. of State Hospitals

Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Kimberly Brown Ph.D., ABPP, recently served as co-author on the article "Preliminary examination of an insanity defense typology: Prevalence rates and correlates" in the journal Behavioral Sciences & the Law. She was also invited to present her talk "Violence and Mental Illness" to California Department of State Hospitals .

Brown invited to present at Tennessee Psychological Association on Violence and Mental Illness

Kimberly Brown, Ph.D., ABPP, associate professor of Clinical Psychiatry and director, Forensic Evaluation Team, was recently invited to present at a meeting of the Tennessee Psychological Association (TPA) on Violence and Mental Illness in November 2018. Brown publishes new paper, presents at Decriminalization of Mental Illness Conference

Kimberly Brown, Ph.D., ABPP, Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Director, Forensic Evaluation Team, recently had her paper "Insanity Defense Typology" published in the journal Behavioral Sciences and the Law. The 2018 issue is in press. In addition to her publication, Dr. Brown was invited to speak at the Decriminalization of Mental Illness Conference held here at Vanderbilt in early March. The goal of the summit was to discuss ways to address how to best respond to mental health crises and police involvement.

Brown publishes article in Journal of Personality Assessment

Kimberly Brown, Ph.D., ABPP, Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, was recently published in the Journal of Personality Assessment. Brown served as co-author on the article "Use of the Personality Assessment Inventory in Fitness-for-Duty Evaluations of Physicians." Click here to read the article.  

Brown invited to serve on APA Council of Specialties, receives ABPP certification

Kimberly Brown, Ph.D. ABPP, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, was recently invited to serve on the next term of the National American Psychological Association's Council of Specialties.  The appointment is from 2016 to 2019.   Brown also received board certification in Forensic Psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).

Finlayson, Brown article on professional misconduct, polygraphs featured in Journal of Medical Regulation

A.J. Reid Finlayson, M.D., Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry, was the lead author of a paper titled "Professional Sexual Misconduct: The Role of the Polygraph in Independent Comprehensive Evaluation," soon to be published by the Journal of Medical Regulation. Kimberly Brown, Ph.D., ABPP, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, is listed as second author of the paper.
