Dr. Brookshire earned his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and his medical degree from the University of Texas.  He completed residency at West Virginia University, where he served as a chief resident, and received clinical safety training at MD Anderson.  Dr. Brookshire is board certified in Family Medicine and endeavors to deliver a patient-centered approach to primary care.

When he is not seeing patients, he enjoys being outdoors, as well as spending time with his wife and three young boys.  He joined the SHC in 2023.

Dr. LeBlanc is originally from Colorado and received her undergraduate degree and master's degree from the University of Northern Colorado and Regis University.  Following this, she moved to Nashville, TN where she received her medical degree and completed training in Family Medicine at Meharry Medical College.

Dr. LeBlanc's interests include acute care, preventative medicine, and women's health.

In her free time, Dr. LeBlanc enjoys traveling and attending concerts with her husband.

Shatika joined Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2021 and began at the Student Health Center in 2023. 
She enjoys cosmetology and is the proud mom of a baby girl.

Emily is a native of Birmingham, AL and a graduate of Auburn University School of Nursing.  Before joining the the Student Health Center in 2022, she had worked in Behavioral Health Nursing and Medical-Surgical Nursing.

Emily enjoys running/fitness and exploring Nashville for great food, music, and sports.

Natalie Patterson, APRN earned her BSN from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee and her MSN from the University of Wisconsin- Madison.
Her clinical experience and interests include primary care, urgent care, orthopedics and podiatry.

Natalie joined the Student Health Center in 2022.

Carla recently joined the Vanderbilt Student Health Center after moving to Nashville from southeastern Kentucky.  She earned her degree in Medical Information Technology from Hazard Community and Technical College and looks forward to serving the Vanderbilt student community.   

Jessica joined the Student Health Center in 2022.

Jessica has her BSN from New Mexico State University and has worked at VUMC for over 3 years in the Adult Emergency Department before transferring to Student Health in 2022.

She enjoys spending time with her terrier mix, being active in local and out of state Renaissance Faires, traveling, swimming and reading.

Sara Best received her undergraduate degree from Sewanee:  The University of the South and her MSN from Vanderbilt University. 
She worked in Family Practice Medicine before starting at the Vanderbilt Student Health Center in 2021.  Her clinical interests include preventative care, reproductive health, and acute care.

Gerri White, LPN, moved to Nashville in 1999 from Kansas City, MO.  She is married with two children and two grandchildren.  Gerri has many years of nursing experience and joined Student Health in 2020.

She enjoys reading, gardening, watching old movies, cooking and spending time with family.
