Administrative Director,
Emergency Services,
Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital

I started my nursing journey in 1988, as secretary/NA/registration clerk, at a large academic ED in North Carolina. Once I completed my associate’s degree in the nursing program, I went to work as an RN in the ED. Over the years I was a preceptor, charge nurse, educator, supervisor, manager, and director. The culture of VUMC shaped who I am today. That sense of pride and professionalism created a burning passion in me. It is my responsibility to create an environment of a safe, efficient, effective, kind care for my team and patients. Being a nurse leader at Vanderbilt is a privilege. What brought me here is the community. I want to share my gifts and talents in the delivery of care to our community, reaching out to love on them. I want my staff and colleagues to know that I will do all I can to create the environment we desire.
