I Have COVID-19. What Next?

COVID-19 is a self-limiting viral illness, meaning it will usually resolve on its own without treatment. Certain individuals, including those with a suppressed immune system, those with certain medical conditions as outlined by the CDC, and individuals age 65 and older may benefit from treatment with antiviral medications. If you meet any of the above qualifications, contact your health care provider via My Health At Vanderbilt or save your place in line at the Student Health sick clinic for an in-clinic evaluation.

If you are only mildly ill and do not feel you need an in-clinic visit, you can treat your symptoms with over-the-counter medications for fevers, cough and congestion, get plenty of rest, wash your hands frequently to prevent spread and wear a mask when around others.
