Monkeypox Vaccination

The Nashville Health Department will hold intermittent vaccine events for Monkeypox, as their vaccine supplies allow.  This vaccine is not currently available at the Student Health Center or other clinics at the Vanderbilt Medical Center.  We will update this site when we become aware of vaccination opportunities.

When on-line scheduling for mass events is not available, students may also call the Lentz Public Health Center at 615-340-5616 to inquire about individual appointment options.

Current eligibility includes:

  1. Known contacts-- person identified by public health contact tracing
  2. Presumed contacts
    a.  Sexual partner notified you of Monkeypox in the last 14 days
    b.  Multiple sexual partners in the last 14 days in a jurisdiction with known Monkeypox
  3. Gay, bisexual or other men who have sex with men and/or transgender/gender non-conforming or non-binary patients who report any of the following:
    a.  Multiple sex partners or anonymous sex in the last 14 days
    b.  Recent diagnosis of sexually transmitted infection (in the last 3 months)
    c.  Living with HIV
    d.  Taking pre-exposure prophylaxis (PreEP)
