Administrative Director, Procedural Areas,
Inpatient Nursing,
Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital

My career path started at Florida Hospital Orlando where I was a nurse tech on an oncology unit while completing my ADN degree. After obtaining my nursing license I worked in oncology/ BMT and then did tours in multiple critical care units. Ultimately, I chose to work in the cath lab. I transferred to Orlando Health and I pursued my BSN and MBA. In 2008 my wife was recruited to Vanderbilt and it was my turn to follow her in her career. I became the manager of the VUMC cath lab and grew professionally.

The best part about being a nurse leader at Vanderbilt is being able to serve our patients while continually developing professionally. VUMC encourages its staff and leaders to grow and fosters an environment to support this on many levels such as Magnet designation, staff councils, implementing new evidence-based practices, implementing Clinical Staff Leader model to get leaders closer to staff work and a legacy of strong nursing presence and physician collaboration.
