Snyder to Serve as Co-director of Health and Well-being

It was recently announced that Elizabeth Snyder, M.D., Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology and Associate Director of Women in Radiology, will serve as Co-director of Health and Well-being for the Department of Radiology. She will lead this effort alongside existing co-director Sudha Singh, M.B.B.S., M.D., Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology, with support from Daxa Desai, R.T.(R)(ARRT), Coordinator, Radiology/QA Compliance; and Christy Latshaw, Department of Radiology Program Manager and Wellness Commodore

Together, they will promote the health and well-being of radiology faculty, staff and trainees through the implementation of department wellness initiatives, programs and services in alignment with those offered by Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Health Plus Program

“Unfortunately, symptoms of burnout are now common among physicians and this can have negative effects on not only the individual, but also our patients and the organization as a whole,” said Snyder. “We think, however, that small interventions can potentially have a large impact on wellness in our department.”

Snyder joined Vanderbilt in 2018 as faculty in the Pediatric Radiology. She completed her residency training in diagnostic radiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital and her fellowship in pediatric radiology at Texas Children’s Hospital.
