Witnessing the devastation caused by natural disasters can fill us with feelings of sadness or hopelessness, whether it affects us directly or those close to us. It's important to take care of ourselves emotionally when these events occur. Jim Kendall, LCSW, CEAP, shares some reminders on how to cope when you feel triggered by terrible weather.

Making Room for "Yes"

Saying "no" to one thing often means you're making space to say "yes" to something else."Sometimes I just don't have the bandwidth or energy to take on a project, even though I want to please the person who has made the request," notes Jim Kendall, LCSW, Manager of Work/Life Connections-EAP. "When we talk about having a better work/life balance, often we mean that we want to fit in things that are important to us," Kendall adds. "I think of it as "Priority Balance".
