I-9s for New House Staff

Vanderbilt University Medical Center, like all US employers, is obligated by the federal government to verify identity and maintain documentation of employment eligibility for all new and existing employees. The federal law requires that you provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States by completing a Form I-9. The entire I-9 process outlined below must be completed no later than your 3rd day of employment. To ensure this is completed in time and to avoid disruption in employment, follow the instructions to complete the form as soon as you receive your link via e-mail.

  • Section 1
    • Watch your personal e-mail for an e-mail message from 'DoNotReply@talentwise.com' with I-9 completion instructions and a link to Section 1 of the I-9. Follow the instructions in this e-mail carefully.
    • If you have not received an e-mail from DoNotReply@talentwise.com by May 13, check your junk mail folder, then send an e-mail to i9.vumc@vumc.org with "VUMC House Staff" in the subject line and your legal name in the body ("First:____, Middle:____, Last:____").
  • Section 2
    • Gather the documents you'll need to complete Section 2 of I-9. View the List of Acceptable Documents (ORIGINALS ONLY. No copies can be accepted.)
    • Bring your original documents to New House Staff Orientation where an HR representative will verify that your Section 1 information is correct and will complete Section 2 of your I-9.
If you are off-cycle (not starting July 1st or going to Orientation), bring your original documents listed in the above bullet to one of the sites on https://hr.vumc.org/i9 to complete Section 2 of your I-9 no later than your 3rd day of employment.

If at any time you have questions or concerns about the I-9 process please feel free to e-mail the I-9 e-mail box i9.vumc@vumc.org.
