AKSHITKUMAR M. MISTRY, MD, (2013), known as Mistry , was raised in India, Africa, and the U.S. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 2007 with a degree in Biochemistry. He attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha. While attending Vanderbilt, Mistry conducted a year of research as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Fellow to understand the basis for variable phenotype in ion-channel based epilepsy syndromes. Currently in his third year of residency training, he plans to graduate in 2020.
