Arthur Fleischer, M.D., Medical Director of Ultrasound and Cornelius Vanderbilt Professor, Departments of Radiology and Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN), received the Laurence (Larry) A. Mack Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2018 Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound (SRU) Annual Meeting held earlier this month in San Diego.

Ryan Adams, M.D., second-year diagnostic radiology resident, was recently selected to participate in the Introduction to Academic Radiology (ITAR) Program at Radiological Society of North America’s (RSNA) Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting in Chicago next month.

Last weekend, the Department of Radiology hosted a Strategic Directions Retreat, which inspired idea sharing and thought-provoking discussion related to the future direction of the department.

The following story originally appeared in the September 2018 edition of the Vanderbilt Radiology alumni newsletter, the Reader.   When I first began applying to diagnostic radiology residency programs, I knew I wanted to stay close to family and hoped to stay connected with the network of physicians I had built in the Southeast. As I began to visit and learn more about different programs on the interview trail, Vanderbilt soon rose above the rest.

Faculty and trainees in the Department of Radiology recently attended the 5th Annual Symposium on Academic Interventional Radiology (AIR) in Washington, D.C.
