Marques Bradshaw Promoted to Professor of Radiology

VUMC Radiology is excited to share the promotion of Marques Bradshaw, MD, MSCR, to the position of Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences.

“Working in a department that doesn’t just talk the talk but walks it, has been thoroughly rewarding,” says Dr. Bradshaw. “I couldn’t be happier with the results, and it is a true honor to have the designation of Professor bestowed upon me.”

Dr. Bradshaw has been an invaluable member of VUMC since joining as faculty in 2017. During his time here, Dr. Bradshaw has also served as the department’s Vice Chair of Diversity Affairs, overseeing diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives like DEI Week and collaborating with the Office of Health Equity.

Before becoming an Associate Professor in 2017, Dr. Bradshaw previously completed his residency in nuclear medicine at Vanderbilt before going on to the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), where he completed a residency in diagnostic radiology and joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Bradshaw stayed with MUSC for seven years, working his way up to Associate Professor and Assistant Dean for Resident Inclusion before returning to VUMC.

“Leaving a job where you are successful and have the inside track on achieving one of your ‘Big Hairy Audacious Goals’ can be stressful,” says Dr. Bradshaw. “However, I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to return to Vanderbilt to work in our department, shape the future of radiology, and train the next generation of Vanderbilt imaging physicians.”

As Dr. Bradshaw assumes the title of Professor, he will continue to contribute to the growth and development of the Department and Medical Center. His promotion signifies his elevated leadership role in shaping the future of radiology and advancing our academic mission. “

"It’s been a joy to watch Dr. Bradshaw’s impact blossom exponentially,” says Reed Omary, MD, MS, Carol D. and Henry P. Pendergrass Professor and Chair. “He’s been a transformative figure for the field of radiology: helping patients here at Vanderbilt, expanding minds about diversity nationally, and mentoring learners across the globe. Dr. Bradshaw richly deserves promotion to full professor.”

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Bradshaw on this achievement.
