Russell has deep ties with the Henry County community, having been born in Paris, and currently lives in Big Sandy. He worked full time with Henry County EMS for seven years, and then worked for just over three years in the Emergency Department at Henry County Medical Center. His uncle retired from Henry County EMS with 42 years of service.

Russell’s wife, Hayley, is a K-9 officer with the Henry County Sheriff’s Department. Officer Xoey French is her K-9 partner and lives with Russell and Hayley.

Russell’s brother Randall, is a lineman with the Paris Board of Public Utilities, and his wife is a school teacher at Thea Elementary School in Paris.

Russell has worked as a critical care flight paramedic with Vanderbilt LifeFlight since 2016.

“I like being able to serve my home community,” Russell explains. “We haven't always had the available resources in Henry County that we have now. Being able to provide Vanderbilt level care to my community is an honor.

An interesting note about Russell and his family – his fifth great grandfather, J.W. Crockett, started his law practice in Paris, TN. He was the son of Davy Crockett.
