Lyndsay Nelson, PhD

Dr. Lyndsay Nelson is a Research Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health. She completed her PhD in social/experimental psychology from East Tennessee State University and her postdoc at VUMC with training in applied health research. Dr. Nelson’s research is grounded in self-care promotion for type 2 diabetes and technology- and community-based health interventions for underserved populations. She has examined the usability and efficacy of several technology-delivered health interventions for diabetes, including both mobile- and web-based. She has specific expertise in measuring and promoting user engagement with technology interventions. Dr. Nelson’s current research is focused on using implementation science to effectively integrate mHealth interventions in routine clinical care.
