Dr. Qian is and Assistant Professor in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and the Associate Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at VUMC. He graduated from the University of Delaware, received his MD from New York University School of Medicine, and trained in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt where he also completed his Pulmonary and Critical Fellowship and Master in Applied Clinical Informatics. Dr. Qian's clinical interests are in intensive care medicine and post-intensive care recovery. His clinical research interests are in empiric antibiotic use in sepsis and his informatics research interests include EHR embedded clinical trials, interruptive alert de-escalation, and prospective validation of machine learning models.
