Dr. Shilo Anders is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology with secondary appointments in Biomedical Informatics and Computer Science at Vanderbilt University. She is a member of the Center for Research and Innovation in Systems Safety (CRISS). Dr. Anders has applied principles of human factors engineering and user centered design as an approach to improve healthcare. She has conducted research on improving system design, individual and team performance, and patient safety and quality. In addition, Dr. Anders’ research interests are in applying human factors engineering to (re)-design, develop, and evaluate clinician and patient facing healthcare technologies.
