Eunice Huang, MD, MS

Dr. Eunice Huang is a pediatric surgeon and the Vice Chair of Clinical Services in the Department of Pediatric Surgery. She is also the Associate Surgeon-in-Chief at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. Dr. Huang is board certified in General Surgery, Pediatric Surgery and Clinical Informatics.

Prior to joining VUMC, Dr. Huang was a faculty member at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN. During her tenure there, she led the Children’s Foundation Research Institute’s Biomedical Informatics Core. She was also the physician chair of the health system’s EHR Council and played an integral role in the implementation of ambulatory EHR for the health system.

Dr. Huang is keenly interested in the intersection of surgical quality and clinical informatics and continually seeks to identify opportunities to leverage healthcare information technology to improve surgical care, to standardize processes associated with appropriate delivery of care, and to foster surgeon/patient communication and patient engagement. Her current interest involves using perioperative EHR data to help inform effectiveness and efficiency of surgical workflow.
