VUMC Radiology would like to thank Richard Pierce, MBA, CMPE for his service to the department and congratulate him on his retirement. At a party Wednesday, the accomplished Chief of Finance and Administration (CFA) fought back tears while reflecting on his career. After thanking his family and colleagues, Mr. Pierce celebrated his reputation for "dad jokes" and reaffirmed his affinity for both Pi Day and Groundhog Day. As he enters a new chapter of his life, Rich turned to one of his favorite musicians—James Taylor—to help find the right words.
The Department of Radiology would like to thank David R. Pickens III, PhD, DABR, FAAPM, Associate Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences, for his 41 years of service at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. We are grateful for the decades of hard work and dedication to furthering the department's mission in the medical world.
Asha Sarma, MD has been named the Deputy Director of Medical Student Education for the Department of Radiology. Dr. Sarma will be working closely with current Director of Medical Student Education, Katie Davis, DO.
