Radiology Faculty Awarded EDI Seed Grant for LIFT-OFF

Department of Radiology faculty and co-founder of the Women in Radiology (WIR) group Dr. Lucy Spalluto has been awarded a $4,000 seed grant from Vanderbilt University’s Office for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) for “A Leadership Intervention to Further the Training of Female Faculty (LIFT-OFF) in Radiology.”

Faculty from the Department of Radiology recently attended the Career & Residency Fair at Meharry Medical College in Nashville. A historically black academic health institution, Meharry is one of the oldest and largest educators of minority physicians in the country.

Unfortunately, colonoscopy misses about 24 percent of small and flat polyps, which often develop into aggressive forms of CRC.
