The Vanderbilt University Hospital is the centerpiece of the Medical Center and the locus of interface between the Department of Psychiatry and the broader community. The Hospital houses the Vanderbilt Consultation-Liaison / Emergency Services and the Psychiatric Transition Unit (PTU), a 24-hour service for the evaluation of patients in a psychiatric emergency.
