Kyle Lavin

Interests in Psychiatry: Palliative Care and Consult Liaison psychiatry. I was initially interested in Internal Medicine, specifically Neuro-Oncology, but after doing research in this field for a year and completing my 3rd year of medical school, I realized that Psychiatry was a more rich and engaging field that allowed me to more effectively and holistically approach the needs of this patient population.
Other interests: Being born and raised on Tobacco Road in Durham, NC, I quickly became a college basketball fanatic. Despite my parents attending Duke University, I had the appropriate insight to realize that cheering for UNC was the best way to follow the winning team as well as begin the process of establishing independence from my parents. In Nashville, I enjoy both watching and playing as many sports as possible. There are many recreational activities that are easy to get involved in and its fun to attend both Titans and Predators games. I also enjoy cooking and gardening with my free time.
