"Anxiety and addiction: building a reverse translational model"
Summary:
In this talk, Dr. Blackford will introduce the concept of reverse translational models. She will provide illustrations of how this approach has led to new discoveries about the brain circuitry that underlies anxiety, including social anxiety, and addiction. .
Objectives:
This activity is designed to help you:
1. explain core brain regions that underlie fear and anxiety
2. describe the role of anxiety in alcohol use disorders
3. contrast traditional and reverse translational models and provide an example of a
translational finding from rodents to humans
