The Department of Neurology is excited to partner with the Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health, other Vanderbilt University Medical Center departments, and local providers to engage with neurological patient care, education, and research in underserved communities worldwide. The department leadership supports and facilitates international rotations as electives during the PGY-3 and 4 years. Residents have traveled to Lusaka, Zambia and developed international teleneurology proposals. Most recently a resident and 2 faculty members traveled to Georgetown, Guyana in collaboration with our Department of Emergency Medicine global health program. We are excited to be developing all of these experiences with the long-term goal of creating an annual international experience for residents and faculty members.
