In July, World Wide Technology (WWT) visited Vanderbilt to meet with VUMC IT team members and begin the creation of an overarching plan for the VUMC Directory Services project. WWT has since created an initial project schedule, including a list of technical inquiries to aid in investigating and further formalizing their “high-level design”. VUMC IT is working diligently to provide answers to WWT’s questions to ensure accuracy.

The finalized high-level design, expected in September 2017, will include an architecture diagram providing an overview of the future system, identification of issues, recommendations, and alternate strategies for any findings in the informal VUMC proposed future-state design.

Teams have been systematically completing the new VUMC central directory services infrastructure technology builds, which are on track for user identity integration testing. The testing should begin in early September. Other related projects that are underway include email separation, data center alignment, data and voice network repositioning, identity affiliation, and others.
