For the Ambulatory Anesthesiology Division faculty position:

The Division of Ambulatory Anesthesiology offers a dynamic, academically focused practice where physicians enjoy clinical autonomy, exceptional case diversity, and opportunities to advance the future of outpatient anesthesia. Division members provide more than 25,000 anesthetics annually across five ambulatory surgery centers while supporting adult hospital operations at Vanderbilt Health.

Faculty practice at the forefront of modern ambulatory anesthesia, caring for patients ranging from healthy pediatric populations to medically complex adults undergoing procedures that were once performed exclusively in the inpatient setting. Regional anesthesia is a hallmark of the division, with faculty maintaining expertise in ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks, continuous catheter techniques, and neuraxial anesthesia while leading enhanced recovery initiatives and same-day total joint arthroplasty programs.

The division provides anesthesia care across a broad range of specialties, including orthopedic surgery, minimally invasive spine surgery, advanced urology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, endoscopy, ophthalmology, pediatric otolaryngology, general surgery, gynecology, podiatry, and pain management. This breadth of practice offers a diverse, intellectually stimulating clinical experience.

As part of a leading academic medical center, faculty plays a vital role in educating anesthesiology residents and regional anesthesia fellows while advancing evidence-based practice, clinical innovation, and perioperative excellence. Whether developing new regional anesthesia techniques, implementing innovative ambulatory care pathways, or optimizing operations across multiple surgery centers, faculty have meaningful opportunities to shape the future of ambulatory anesthesia.

We seek collaborative, innovative anesthesiologists who are committed to lifelong learning, academic excellence, and delivering exceptional, patient-centered care.
