For the Neuroanesthesiology faculty position:
The Division of Neuroanesthesiology provides perioperative care for more than 5,000 patients annually undergoing complex intracranial and spine procedures. Faculty in the Division are expected to demonstrate expertise in the specialized anesthetic management of patients undergoing surgery and procedures for brain tumors, cerebrovascular malformations and aneurysms, including cerebrovascular and endovascular procedures, stroke intervention, neurotrauma, complex spinal procedures, functional neurosurgery, and chronic pain management.
The Division also provides specialized anesthesia services for awake craniotomies. Fellowship training in neuroanesthesiology is preferred but not required.
Neurosurgery and other neurologic services continue to expand at Vanderbilt Health in response to population growth throughout Middle Tennessee and the surrounding region. A new tower featuring 11 operating rooms specifically designed for intracranial and spine procedures opened in the summer of 2025.
