For the Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine Division (ACCM) faculty position:
The Division of Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine (ACCM) is committed to delivering exceptional patient care, fostering professionalism, advancing innovative education, and promoting scholarly activities that improve the safety, quality, and value of critical care.
As an international leader in critical care medicine, the division includes more than 40 board-certified intensivists and more than 75 critical care-trained advanced practice providers. ACCM delivers comprehensive critical care services across multiple intensive care units, including the Burn, Cardiovascular, Neurological, and Surgical ICUs at Vanderbilt Health; the Surgical ICU at the Nashville VA Medical Center; and the Medical/Surgical ICUs at Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital, Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital, and Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital.
In addition to critical care services, ACCM faculty provide intraoperative anesthesia for a wide range of surgical specialties, preoperative and perioperative consultation for patients undergoing major surgery, and rapid response services for medical and surgical patients. Faculty members are actively engaged in clinical care, education, research, quality improvement, and departmental leadership.
Our faculty possesses extensive expertise in the management of critically ill patients, including advanced mechanical ventilation, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, bronchoscopy, point-of-care ultrasound, and echocardiography. They lead multidisciplinary care teams dedicated to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care. Faculty practicing in the Cardiovascular ICU also maintain specialized expertise in the management of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and mechanical circulatory support.
