The Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences is proud to welcome Shanna Matalon, MD, who joins our Abdominal Imaging section as an Associate Professor. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University, where she received a bachelors in neuroscience, Dr. Matalon attended medical school at Boston University School of Medicine. After graduating, she went on to complete a radiology residency and fellowship in abdominal imaging and intervention at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
VUMC Radiology is happy to welcome Eric Wallace, MD, who comes to our team as an Associate Professor and will serve as our new Vice Chair of Community Radiology. Dr. Wallace is a triple-graduate of Louisiana State University. He received his undergraduate degree in kinesiology from LSU before attending the LSU Health Sciences Center for both his medical degree and radiology residency.
VUMC Radiology Research Associate Professor Adam Rosenberg, PhD, has been selected to participate in the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center (VICC) Research Program Fellows Initiative. This program looks to gather talented investigators within Vanderbilt to help enhance the variety of ideas within the VICC decision-making processes and to develop a pipeline of future leaders.

Richard M Heller, MD, Professor Emeritus of Radiology and Radiological Sciences, founder of Pediatric Radiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on the evening of Monday, February 3, at the age of 86.
VUMC Radiology is excited to welcome back Jackiel Mayo, MD, to our department as an Assistant Professor with our Abdominal Imaging section!Dr. Mayo received his medical degree from the University of Cape Town and practiced as a radiologist for many years in South Africa before coming to Vanderbilt in 1994. He completed additional training at VUMC and joined as radiology faculty in 1996.
