Ranjit S. Bagga, MD is an assistant professor of clinical radiology and radiological sciences with over 20 years of experience in neuroradiology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in 1994 and completed his radiology residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 1998. Dr. Bagga pursued advanced fellowship training in neuroradiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and in interventional neuroradiology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center.

Before returning to Vanderbilt in 2025, Dr. Bagga served as President of X-Ray Associates of Louisville for over a decade, where he led one of Kentucky’s premier radiology private practices, overseeing clinical operations, physician recruitment and strategic partnerships with Baptist Health Louisville and its affiliate institutions. His principal clinical interests include cerebrovascular disease and stroke imaging.

Jose Maldonado Joins as Assistant Professor

VUMC Radiology welcomes Jose Maldonado, MD, MHA, to our team as an Assistant Professor with our Cardiothoracic Imaging section.Dr. Maldonado is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, where he received his medical degree and completed his diagnostic radiology residency. He attended the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology with Washington University at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis and completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic imaging.
