Mary Ellen Koran Selected for RSNA Clinical Trails Methodology Workshop

The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) has chosen VUMC Radiology Assistant Professor Mary Ellen Koran, MD, PhD, for their 2024 Clinical Trails Methodology Workshop. This six-day intensive workshop gives attendees the tools to develop protocols and become funded, principal investigators for imaging clinical trials. Dr. Koran and others selected for the course will work with experienced faculty members and gain knowledge in writing trials that evaluate novel imaging or image-guided interventions through didactic sessions, one on one mentoring, and more.

Adam Rosenberg Named ‘One to Watch’ by SNMMI

The Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) has named VUMC Radiology Research Assistant Professor Adam Rosenberg, PhD, as ‘One to Watch’ in 2023. The annual One to Watch list features early career professionals in medicine, recognizing those who "have the potential to shape the future of precision medicine across the field." Dr. Rosenberg joins 28 other professionals on this year’s list. Previously, Nuclear Medicine Section Chief Philip Scherer, MD, was named as an SNMMI One to Watch honoree. Jeff Carr Receives Gold Medal Award from Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography

VUMC Radiology’s Jeffrey Carr, MD, has received the top award given by the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) for his years of service to the organization. Dr. Carr was presented with the SCCT Gold Medal Award on July 28 during the 18th Annual Scientific Meeting. This is a service award that recognizes members for their leadership and commitment to SCCT and its mission.

VUMC Radiology Residency Program Highlighted by RSNA

A recent publication by the RSNA highlights the VUMC Radiology Residency Program and the unique training it provides to its residents. Design thinking, a method to find the best solutions to problems, is a cornerstone of VUMC Radiology. It has not only led to redesigning the resident experience, but also reconfiguring reading room environments to “optimize well-being.”
