The following story originally appeared in the April 6, 2017, edition of the VUMC Reporter.   A. Everette James Jr., M.D., J.D., a renowned imaging expert, art collector and former chair of Vanderbilt’s Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences, died recently in North Carolina. He was 78.

The Department of Radiology’s Diagnostic (DR) and Interventional Radiology (IR) residency program directors Drs. Ed Donnelly and Peter Bream are happy to announce that the programs have filled for the 2017 National Resident Match Program Match.

The following story originally appeared in the March 30, 2017, editon of the VUMC Reporter.    The advent of colorectal cancer (CRC) screening, notably colonoscopy, has reduced deaths from this common and deadly malignancy by 30 percent. Unfortunately, colonoscopy misses about 24 percent of small and flat polyps, which often develop into aggressive forms of CRC.

The Department of Radiology recently announced third-year diagnostic radiology resident Drs. Brian Bussey and Tyler McKinnon as chief residents for the Class of 2018. They will assume their new roles after the completion of the American Board of Radiology’s Core Examination in June.
