One of the most promising new treatments for Alzheimer’s disease may already be in your kitchen. Curcumin, a natural product found in the spice turmeric, has been used by many Asian cultures for centuries, and a new study indicates a close chemical analog of curcumin has properties that may make it useful as a treatment for the Alzheimer’s disease.

The Department of Radiology held its very first “Ladies Night Out” on January 8! Interest for the event was generated by many of the female colleagues desiring a social gathering outside of work for time to talk and get to know one other and enjoy a good meal. The dinner, which took place at the Cabana Restaurant in Hillsboro Village, served as a great opportunity to discuss issues faced by women and how to work communally for the advancement of their careers.
Brown named to SIR Executive Council

Daniel B. Brown, MD, FSIR has been nominated for a 3-year term on the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) Executive Council as Director of Post-Graduate Education. Selection was made by the SIR Foundation Board Nominating Committee and approved by the SIR Foundation Board in November. In this role, he will have several responsibilities:
