Vanderbilt Clinical Trials Radiology Support Core launched

Vanderbilt’s Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences has launched the Vanderbilt Clinical Trials Radiology Support Core. The core will provide broad administrative support services for imaging performed within Vanderbilt clinical trials. It has been developed in close collaboration with the Office of Research and the Clinical Trials Billing Compliance office.

Damon to lead Chemical and Physical Biology grad program

Bruce Damon, Ph.D., has been named director of Vanderbilt University’s Chemical and Physical Biology (CPB) graduate program, which prepares students for “cutting-edge” research careers at the interface of the chemical sciences, physical sciences and biology. Damon, associate professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences, Molecular Physiology and Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering, succeeds Hassane Mchaourab, Ph.D., who founded the program with Albert Beth, Ph.D., in 2007.

Creasy Named Section Chief of Neuroradiology

The Vanderbilt University Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences is pleased to announce that Jeff L. Creasy, MD, has been named Section Chief of Neuroradiology, effective August 1, 2015.

Brown to head cancer registry for Y-90 tumor treatments

Dan Brown, M.D., professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences and chief of Interventional Oncology, will spearhead a national Vanderbilt-led research registry that tracks cancer patients whose tumors are treated with Yttrium-90 (Y-90), a radioactive isotope.
