Johanna Savage, MD

Assistant Professor of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology

Dr. Johanna Savage is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she specializes in gynecologic pathology. Dr. Savage received her medical degree (MD) from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and completed a residency in anatomic pathology and clinical pathology, as well as a surgical pathology fellowship, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She subsequently went on to complete a two-year fellowship/junior faculty position in gynecologic pathology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland under the leadership of Robert Kurman, MD, Brigitte Ronnett, MD, and Russell Vang, MD. Dr. Savage is board certified by the American Board of Pathology and is a fellow of the College of American Pathologists and the American Society of Clinical Pathology. She is a member of the International Society of Gynecologic Pathologists, the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, the College of American Pathologists, and the American Society of Clinical Pathology.

Dr. Savage’s clinical and research interests include gynecologic oncologic pathology and medical education.
