Megan Salwei, PhD

Dr. Megan Salwei is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics. She also works within the Center for Research and Innovation in Systems Safety (CRISS). Dr. Salwei received her Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Salwei’s research is focused on applying human factors engineering methods and principles to improve the design of health information technology (IT) to support clinician’s work and improve patient safety.  She is interested in how to successfully integrate advanced technologies, such as those based on machine learning and artificial intelligence, into clinical workflow. She is also interested in the design of health IT to support the work of healthcare teams.
