Innovation: General Urology

Innovation

Faculty in the Division of General Urology conduct research that improves life and health outcomes for patients.

Our areas of focus include:

  • Health services research that identifies high-value health care and how best to deliver it to patients, including health care policy work to improve patient care.
  • Surgical outcomes. We partner with the Vanderbilt Center for Surgical Quality and Outcomes Research to study surgical devices and procedures in order to improve surgical outcomes for patients.
  • Benign urologic conditions. We partner with the Vanderbilt Center for Benign Urologic Diseases to improve treatments and research for patients with enlarged prostate, bladder changes or lower urinary tract symptoms. The center also improves benign urologic research education for students, scientists and clinicians.
  • Clinical trials are led and performed by our faculty for a variety of general urologic conditions.
