Pt Care: Urologic Oncology

Urologic Oncology

Our Division of Urologic Oncology emphasizes excellent patient care, innovative surgical techniques, and the most up-to-date research and clinical trials.

Our nationally prominent faculty and fellows pioneer new treatments that create healthier lives. We give patients access to new medicines and therapies not available elsewhere and teach other urologic oncologists these new methods. Each of our faculty is a leader in their specific area of research or clinical expertise.

Our experience is unmatched in the region. We see more cases of many urologic cancers than most other medical centers in the country. Patients and referring physicians rely on us from across the United States and even other parts of the world to provide the very best in treatment.

PATIENT CARE EXCELLENCE

At Vanderbilt, our urologic oncology faculty diagnoses and treats all types of genitourinary cancers. Our doctors are surgical experts, especially in robot-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy for prostate cancer.

Patients receive care from internationally known doctors actively involved in academic research at one of the nation’s top-ranked National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers. Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center is the only Tennessee center caring for adults and children with NCI designation.

We see patients through the Vanderbilt Urology Clinic, at three sites:

  • Vanderbilt University Medical Center
    • Urologic Surgery (robotic, minimally invasive and open)
    • Interventional Radiology
  • Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center
    • Medical Oncology
    • Radiation Oncology
  • Veterans Affairs Medical Center

In addition, our faculty serves in regional and national leadership roles in the Society of Urologic Oncology, the American Urologic Association and many other urologic organizations.
