John K. Ewing, MD
Dr. Ewing joined our surgical faculty as Assistant Professor of Surgery after completing the Complex Gastrointestinal and Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship at the Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C. His clinical areas of expertise include a focus on abdominal wall reconstruction, hernias, biliary disease and gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Research Information
Dr. Ewing’s research interests are focused on optimizing patient outcomes for hernia repair including quality of life, enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) for hernia patients and minimally invasive techniques for hernia repair. Included among his recent publications are: “Development of an Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Program in Ventral Hernia,” The American Surgeon 2024.
