Dr. Dageforde joins our faculty as Associate Professor of Surgery after being an abdominal transplant surgeon and the surgical director of living kidney donation at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. She is excited to return to Nashville and the Vanderbilt community having completed her medical school and general surgery residency at VUMC. Her clinical interests focus on end stage kidney disease, laparoscopic and robotic living kidney donor surgery, and kidney and pancreas transplantation. She is the surgical director of living kidney donation at Vanderbilt Transplant Center.

Research
Dr. Dageforde’s research interests include conducting implementation science research related to developing and implementing interventions for post-transplant patients. Her NIH funded research addresses a critical gap in care for liver transplant recipients with alcohol use disorder through testing an integrated interventional approach with the potential to improve access, equity, and long-term outcomes for these patients. Her research also includes work on wellness after transplantation with a particular focus on maintaining a healthy weight and lifestyle.

Dr. Lim joined our surgical faculty as Assistant Professor of Clinical Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery after completing her post-graduate training in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA. Her clinical areas of expertise include a focus on pediatric preventative and restorative dentistry, pediatric oral surgery, special needs dentistry, and sedation dentistry.

Dr. Ewing joined our surgical faculty as Assistant Professor of Surgery after completing the Complex Gastrointestinal and Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship at the Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C. His clinical areas of expertise include a focus on abdominal wall reconstruction, hernias, biliary disease and gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Dr. Wilson joined our surgical faculty as Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery after recently completing his fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. His areas of clinical expertise focuses on neurological spine surgery, comprehensive spine surgery, and tumors of the spine and spinal cord.

Research
Dr. Wilson's research focuses primarily on the effects of neuromodulation - specifically spinal cord stimulation - for patients with spinal cord injury (SCI). While in residency at UCLA, Dr. Wilson worked in Dr. Daniel Lu's Neuroplasticity and Repair Lab examining the benefits of electrical stimulation in specific SCI patient sub-populations. He plans to continue this work at Vanderbilt, partnering with the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation to assist patients in their recovery following injury.

Dr. Wilson also maintains a research interest in surgical outcomes following spine surgery of various types, geared towards improving the quality of care of all patients undergoing spine surgery.

Included among his recent publications in numerous peer-reviewed journals are: “Augmented Reality in Spinal Surgery,” Neurosurgery 2025, “Machine Learning Predicts Cerebral Vasospasm in Patients with Subarachnoid Haemorrhage” eBioMedicine 2024, and “A Survey of Physician Perspectives Toward Giloblastoma Resection,” World Neurosurgery 2024.

Dr. Wilson received the California Association of Neurological Surgeons Top Clinical Abstract Award in 2020 during his residency at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Dr. Lee earned his Master’s in Advanced Studies (clinical research) and medical degree from the University of California in San Diego, CA. He then completed his residency in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of California in Los Angeles, CA.
