- If you are present in the room with an x-ray machine while it is on, even if you are not the operator, you will need to complete the Clinical X-Ray Safety Course.
- If you operate:
- any kind of clinical x-ray machine, you must complete the Clinical X-Ray Safety Course annually.
- fluoroscopic x-ray equipment, you must complete the Radiation Safety During Fluoroscopy Course. The Clinical X-Ray Safety Course is a prerequisite for this course, and must have been completed within the last year.

If you operate an analytical x-ray machine, you must complete the Analytical X-Ray Operator Safety Training Course annually. Send an email to radsafety@vumc.org to request this assignment. Use ;this form to record required quarterly interlock test results.
If you operate the Polaris X-Ray Irradiator, you must complete the X-ray Irradiator Safety Training for the Polaris SC-500 course annually. Send an email to radsafety@vumc.org regarding any questions about enrollment.
