This grand rounds lecture is designed for faculty, residents, staff and medical students.

The learning objective of this presentation includes:

  • As part of a larger conversation about a respectful workplace culture at VUMC, this 60-minute session provides education about sexual harassment in healthcare, our complex climate of personal interactions at VUMC, and processes and procedures in place to understand harassment and how to respond appropriately if it happens

Cory Colton, SPHR, Executive Director of Learning and Development, has 20 years of experience in organizational learning, leadership development, learning operations, learning technologies and innovation.  Cory has led award winning teams at the cutting edge of mobile and virtual learning and learning measurement. Cory enjoys the strategy of learning, tying curriculum to organization goals and strategies.  Cory has also been involved with talent development, career development, engagement and organizational effectiveness strategies during his career. He began his corporate career at Citigroup in New York, eventually working for Cox Communications and Cox Automotive in Atlanta and is happy to be in healthcare in Nashville with Vanderbilt.  

 

Rochelle Johnson, SHRM-SCP, has 18 years of Human Resources experience across areas such as recruiting, employee relations, compensation, health & safety and union experience. Rochelle has a proven track record in building successful working relationships and providing exceptional human resources consulting services to management & client groups. Rochelle has worked in many different industries such as retail, government, hospitality and for the last 11 years in Healthcare.  Rochelle has been working at VUMC since 2016 after moving to Nashville from Atlanta.

 

Arie Nettles, Ph.D., experience includes the planning, implementation, and leadership of a new clinical psychology service for the Center for Child Development in the Division of Developmental Medicine. This service provides assessment, diagnosis, and brief therapeutic interventions to children and youth ages 7 to 21 with autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, or other mental health condition, and their families. The diagnostic and assessment services provided this older population are unique, and to date, over 1,000 children and families have received services. The three-tier model includes an initial clinical interview, administration of psychological tools, and a follow-up session to discuss and manage diagnoses. At least six hours of direct service is provided to children and families. This clinic supports families, helps them better understand the development of their children, and coordinates a systemic collaboration for all who are involved with these children. Children and families return every six months or annually until young adulthood, facilitating robust data collection and great research potential.
