Dr. Nina Miucin joined VUMC Radiology in 2024 as an Assistant Professor. A graduate of American University of Antigua College of Medicine, she completed her diagnostic radiology residency at Creighton University before going on to a fellowship in MSK imaging at Duke. 

As a trainee, Dr. Miucin served as chief resident and received numerous leadership awards including Resident of the Year. While working as an attending radiologist at Valleywise Health in Phoenix, Arizona, she was selected as Teacher of the Year in 2023.

VUIIS Research Lands Vanderbilt University at #14 Nationwide for NIH Funding in Radiology

The Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences is extremely proud to share that the extraordinary research of the Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging Science (VUIIS) has landed Vanderbilt University at #14 on the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research’s annual rankings of NIH funding for 2023. This ranking is an improvement from last year, when VU came in 16th place in the nation for radiology.

LeAnn Stokes Named Vice Chair of Quality and Safety

The Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences is pleased to share that LeAnn Stokes, MD, Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences and Section Chief of Interventional Radiology will serve as the department's new Vice Chair of Quality and Safety.  Dr. Stokes has worked for over a decade to improve patient outcomes as the department's Quality and Pateint Safety Director. We're excited to see her work in this area substantiated further in this official Vice Chair role. Congratulations, Dr. Stokes!

Sarah Allen Named Senior Vice President for Radiology Services

Sarah Allen, MBA, CNMT, RT(CT), associate operating officer for the Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences, has been named Senior Vice President for Radiology Services at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). Allen is recognized for her consultative and supportive role for radiology services provided through Vanderbilt University Hospital (VUH), VUMC’s regional hospitals, Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and the Adult Ambulatory Divisions.

Christine Dove Named Section Chief for Women's Imaging

The Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences is proud to name Christine Dove, MD, as the new Section Chief of Women's Imaging. Dr. Dove brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this role, transitioning into the position as Glynis Sacks, MBbCh, steps down after many years dedicated to building, growing and running the Center for Women’s Imaging (CWI). “Dr. Christine Dove has been an integral part of the success of CWI,” says Dr. Sacks. “Her active involvement as a fellow, attending and medical director make her perfectly qualified to take over as section chief."
