Department Hosts Annual Chairman’s Leadership Awards and Special Recognition Ceremony

Yesterday, the Department of Radiology hosted its Annual Chairman’s Leadership Awards and Special Recognition Ceremony, which recognized more than 80 radiology team members for their outstanding contributions to the department and the Medical Center. 

Approximately 100 attendees, from department leadership to technologists, were welcomed to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital Theatre with a VIP red carpet entrance and paparazzi, along with popcorn, punch and sweet treats to enjoy during the ceremony.

Notable awards including the Chairman’s Annual Leadership Award, the O. Malcolm Sloan Outstanding Medical Imager of the Year Award and the Radiology Resident of the Year Award were presented to Iesha Smith, MSHRM, Karen Tisdale, B.S., RDMS, and Chief Resident Brett Barker, M.D., respectively.

Recipients for Commitment to Service, Length of Service and modality-specific awards were also recognized. 

“We are honored to celebrate the many accomplishments of our Vanderbilt Radiology team during National Radiologic Technology Week,” said Reed Omary, M.D., M.S., Carol D. and Henry P. Pendergrass Professor and Chair, Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences. “Our team members devote so much energy and passion to serve our patients that it’s important we come together annually to recognize their commitment in such a fun and collegial manner.”
