Consisting of nurses with various clinical backgrounds and expertise, the AHC Nursing Board relies on collaboration amongst its members to help identify opportunities to improve healthcare-related issues in the global population.

Blount will utilize the knowledge she’s acquired in her 22-year career to provide knowledge and insights in the areas of patient care, trauma and radiology. She will also work with colleagues to raise awareness around issues related to violence in the healthcare industry.

“Sondra represents Radiology Nursing on a number of committees for the Adult Enterprise, including the Vanderbilt Professional Nursing Practice Program (VPNPP) and the Workplace Violence Prevention Committee, and provides reports made through the Workplace Violence Prevention Committee to the Hospital Safety Committee,” said Beth Adame, Nurse Manager, Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences. “She has personally advanced through the VPNPP to the R.N. 4 level.”

Blount has dedicated the entirety of her career to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Prior to her transition into the Department of Radiology three years ago, Blount spent 19 years working in VUMC’s Division of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care. In her current role, she assists in the management and training of fellow radiology nursing staff.

She is a member of the American Nurses Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses and Association of Radiology Nurses.
