Jana B.A. Macleod, MD MSc FRCS(C) FACS FRC(ECSA) is a general, trauma, and oncology surgeon as well as an intensivist and has worked extensively in Canada, the US, Tanzania, and Kenya.  Her career has also involved:

  • Previous Medical Officer in the District of Bagamoyo, Bagamoyo, Tanzania
  • Previous Faculty and Associate Professor, Emory University School of Medicine where she was Research Director, Dept of Surgery-Grady Hospital and Director of International Research & Partnerships, Department of Surgery.  
  • Previous Chair of Surgery, Aga Khan University, Nairobi, Kenya
  • Teaching Faculty, Kenyatta University, School of Medicine and Kiambu District Hospital as well as a Committee Member, Research, Innovations, Outreach & Collaboration Committee for the Dept of Surgery 
  • Professor of Surgery Adjunct, University of Pittsburgh, Co-investigator, PITS-Kenya, a NIH-funded grant
  • Professor of Surgery Adjunct, University of British Columbia, Online instructor for the Branch of Global Surgery, Department of Surgery
