Brief Bio
It’s hard to imagine another place where in the course of one business day you can partner with our Nation’s Heroes toward building healthier lives, consult with an amazing team of interdisciplinary professionals, and supervise some of the next generation of leaders in the field of Psychology—all of this is why Dr. Covert has been a Staff Psychologist at TVHS since 2006.
As a Psychotherapist at the VA, she has focused on utilizing Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs) with individuals and couples; however, she integrates Experiential and Existential components—leaning into the tension of psychotherapy being both an art and a science. She enjoys developing, implementing, and assessing group psychotherapy curricula.
Outside of the VA, Dr. Covert joyfully welcomed her two daughters by way of domestic adoptions and decided to transition to a part-time schedule in 2011—wearing yoga pants half of the week and honing her Play-Doh skills.
