Jeffrey Tosoian, MD, MPH

Jeffrey Tosoian, MD, MPH is an Associate Professor and the Director of Translational Cancer Research in the Department of Urology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). He completed medical school and urology residency at Johns Hopkins, where he obtained an MPH in epidemiological and biostatistical methods for clinical research. He then completed a translational research and clinical fellowship in urologic oncology at the University of Michigan. Dr. Tosoian is the Chair of the National Cancer Institute’s Early Detection Research Network Genitourinary Cancer Collaborative and the American Cancer Society’s National Prostate Cancer Roundtable for localized prostate cancer. His research is focused on the development and clinical application of non-invasive tools for early detection and management of prostate cancer and has been supported by the National Cancer Institute SPORE Career Enhancement Program, the Prostate Cancer Foundation, and the NIH/NCI Early Detection Research Network. Dr. Tosoian leads the Prostate Cancer Risk Clinic, a clinical program for early screening in patients at increased genetic risk of prostate cancer. His clinical practice is primarily at the Nashville VA Medical Center, where he treats patients with urologic cancers.
