All grant proposals and awards where animal work is involved must be properly reviewed by Vanderbilt's Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and linked to the appropriate investigator, protocol, and project.

Certification and Affiliation
IACUC does not issue protocol umbrellas, but investigators can "affiliate" an existing IACUC protocol with more than one grant, provided that no additional animals or new procedures are proposed. However, the IACUC must review and approve all work described in the proposal. Typical review time is one week.
Protocol affiliation can be completed electronically on the IACUC website.
