Rooms that house x-ray devices or radioactive materials may require shielding to be placed within the walls, ceilings, and/or floors to meet regulatory dose limits established by the State of TN Department of Environment and Conservation Division of Radiological Health (DRH).
OCRS manages all shielding design requests to ensure appropriate shielding is installed. Additionally, OCRS performs shielding evaluations to determine the amount/presence of shielding within walls, ceilings, and floors.
