 Dr. Das is a drug developer at AstraZeneca. He is currently a global medical director in late development oncology GI and focuses on drug development in gastric/GEJ, biliary tract and pancreatic cancer. He is a former early phase clinical trialist at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he served as the Neuroendocrine Tumor Program Lead and Medical Oncology Lead for the PRRT program.

 

Learning Objectives:

  1. To highlight the fundamental differences in approach to oncology clinical trials between academia and industry – patient versus target population focused
  2. To discuss patterns of drug development in industry and how trends can be leveraged to benefit patients with both:
    1. Rare tumors - the story of SSTR-targeting radionuclide therapy in NETs
    2. Common tumors – novel radionuclides being explored in tumors beyond prostate cancer
